About TRUCKSMITH^®

TRUCKSMITH^® is a long standing, owner managed coachbuilding business providing a wide range of commercial vehicle bodies manufactured at our purpose built Devon factories, which are conveniently located at junctions 27 and 28 of the M5 motorway.

Over the past 30 years, TRUCKSMITH^® bodywork has gained a well earned reputation for being well made, tough and good value for money. One question we are regularly asked is how and why we found our way to coach building; maybe it was a vocation or perhaps it’s just in our blood but however it came to be, it has allowed the whole family to play a part in developing a business that produces high quality bodywork for all our customers be they a major vehicle manufacturer, local authorities, a multi national airline or the local small business.

Generations of experience and careful expansion have allowed us to evolve TRUCKSMITH^® from a bespoke jobbing coach builder to the first port of call for customers nationwide looking for unique designs, premium commercial vehicle bodies and the building of both small and large fleets.

TRUCKSMITH^® designs and manufactures an established range of Box Vans, Curtainsiders, Tippers, Dropsides and Lutons, from 3.5 tonne (GVW) to 18.5 tonne (GVW) in a range of modern light weight materials built using experience extending back over forty years.

Ancillary plant and equipment integrations are regularly carried out to existing vehicles as well as additional modifications such as crew cab conversions, tail lifts, refuse cages, greedy boards, cranes or glass carrying frails.

TRUCKSMITH^® has historically and continues to design and build every conceivable type of specialist vehicle, from Local Authority mobile Family Centres to mobile Building Societies and Calibration Laboratories illustrated here is just a small range of our work, if it can be dreamt up and it’s legal, we can realise it.
